Looking Back
When Louis Fitzgerald refurbished The Laurels, he designed a premises that was modern and functional, but kept the traditional feeling, It had an unorthodox layout of split-level lounges and bars that added to the character of the pub – and it never feels empty even when it’s on the quiet side. The main lounge area is warm and spacious and has a magnificent old stone fireplace. It also has a back bar fitting that was imported in from an antique dealer in Chicago. The fitting was originally at home in a famous hotel in Chicago that Al Capone ran his business from. The upper lounge while also keeping the traditional feel is where you can hear some of the best live music in Dublin at the weekends.
The public bar located at the rear of the building is full of the old Clondalkin character with senior barman Kieran Gavin still holding the reigns after 25 years. Here you can enjoy a range of sports on the big screen TV’s including horse racing, football and GAA.
From charming, quirky, and traditional Irish Pubs to well renowned whiskey and gin bars in the heart of Dublin and surrounding areas there is something for everyone. The Louis Fitzgerald Group Pubs are famous for their delicious food, friendly staff and charming interior décors!

We booked a table for about 20 people at The Laurels, and their service was absolutely amazing. The staff were incredibly attentive, always eager to help and quick to get us drinks and food. They even let us stay for a couple of hours after our meal, which was really accommodating. Impressively, two of the staff arrived before our booking to ensure everything was perfectly set up for our group. Their service was top-notch, and I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. I had no idea the place was so spacious, which was a pleasant surprise. On top of that, there was a football match happening, which added an extra layer of excitement and created a vibrant atmosphere. The ambiance at The Laurels is fantastic. It’s a great spot to enjoy good food, drinks, and lively company. The prices are very reasonable, making it excellent value for money. Every member of the staff was happy, friendly, and exceptionally helpful, which made our experience even better. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Laurels and will definitely be coming back in the future . The combination of excellent service, great atmosphere, and fair pricing makes it a standout pub. Whether you’re there for a casual drink, a meal, or to catch a football match, The Laurels is the perfect place to be. Don’t miss out on this gem if you’re in the area!
